It Takes Courage

It Takes Courage

It Takes Courage

This campaign is the largest Domestic Violence prevention event in Central Florida.  Hundreds of volunteers fan out across Orlando and Orange County to reach tens of thousands of homes with a message of hope delivered on a door hanger.  It reaches the endangered, the bystanders and family as well as the offenders in our community letting all of them know that the community will not tolerate abuse.  The message is simple:  If it is happening now, call 911.  If it is happening to you, a friend or a loved one, call the hotline number provided.  The results are overwhelming with hotline calls doubling, people seeking shelter and getting injunctions and safety plans.  Everyone deserves to feel safe behind their own front door.

Paws For Peace, benefitting the pet kennel at Harbor House of Central Florida

PAWS FOR PEACE WALK 2012 BENEFITTING THE PET KENNEL AT HARBOR HOUSE

PAWS FOR PEACE WALK 2012 BENEFITTING THE PET KENNEL AT HARBOR HOUSE

The Paws for Peace Walk is a fun and leisurely stroll for families, friends and their pets. We walk to raise awareness about the impact of domestic abuse on pets and their owners. Survivors often won’t leave an abusive relationship because they don’t have a safe place to go where they can bring their pets. In Central Florida, survivors can bring their pets with them to Harbor House. 100% of the proceeds of the walk funds services to survivors and their pets staying at Harbor House.
